After missing the prestigous Toyota Tour Cup qualifying buy one shot last August on her first try, Yana qualifies in her 2nd attempt by finishing T1 with a -3 par at the challenging Menifee Lakes Country Club in Southern California. The final Q-School of the year concluded at Menifee Lakes Country Club on December 15th-16th. The tournament boasted a stacked field of players who were looking for a coveted Toyota Tour Cup invitation. The top 10% of the field plus ties earned an exemption onto the Toyota Tour Cup for the entire 2019 season. The first day saw low scores and impressive play with Johnnie Clark leading the pack with a 4-under 68. Right behind him were Vito Di Bernardo and Kyle Kolodziej with matching 2-under par 70’s. Tensions were just as high in the girls division as Keira Wang and Yana Wilson were in a lock for first place with 1-under 71’s. In third place was Scarlet Weidig who was only a shot back with a 72 and looking to leapfrog her way into first place on day two.A lot was on the line heading into day two. The boys division was a battle to the end with 17 boys shooting 4-over or better for two days earning TTC exemptions. Standout performances came from first place finishers Vito Di Bernardo and Johnnie Clark. Di Bernardo and Clark were 5-under and 3-under respectively, bringing their totals to 7-under par 137’s. In solo third was Anthony Di Bernardo with a tournament total 138. In the girls division, 9 people qualified that shot 8-over or better over the two days. Yana Wilson and Vanessa Ho took low medalist honors with a 2-under 70 and 5-under 67 respectively, which resulted in 3-under 141’s for the tournament.
