USkids Las Vegas Tour – Highland Falls Tournament

Yana finally beat Highland Falls Golf Course. In 4 tournament attempts,  Yana had failed to break par on the Summerlin area golf course – until today.

It was starting to get personaI!  I do not like that course and that course does not like me. I don’t know what it is but that course layout does not suit me. I was determined to shoot an under par round today and that was my goal. I had to stay really patient. I was behind by 3 shots on the 4th hole. I birdied the 4th hole to stay 2 back but I didn’t care, all I wanted to do today was break par and beat this course. I knew that if I broke par that would be a great score and everything was going to work out.

Yana birdied the par 5 6th hole to go to -2. “I almost holed out my tee shot on the par 3 8th hole. I just missed the birdie putt and was able to tap in for par. I was feeling good, I was -2 with 1 more hole to play. All needed was bogey on the last hole to beat this course. Of course, I bogeyed the 9th like I always do on this course but I was able to finally beat it!  I shot 1 under! Yay!” Yana said.

Not only did Yana beat the course she came from behind to win the tournament! It was her third tournament win in Las Vegas this week. Way to hang in there and congrats on conquering Highland Falls!
